Returning to the Stars last season after a stint overseas, midcourter Lisa Mather will suit up again in 2025. A regular for the Stars between 2020 and 2022, Mather spent the 2023 season playing for the Saracens Mavericks in England’s Super League. Comfortably able to play all three midcourt positions, Mather is a tenacious and gritty performer, generally from wing defence but more time playing at centre in England makes her a valuable all-rounder. Offshore experience and plenty of court time has enhanced Mather’s maturity as a player and her familiarity with the Stars make her a more than handy asset. A no-nonsense, no fuss approach and her one-on-one defensive capabilities add extra clout at the defensive end while she also offers a strong attacking component.
