Rangy in-circle defender Kate Burley is back for the Stars in 2025 where she started her elite level career and where she has since become a key cog. After two seasons with the Steel, Burley returned to her home patch last season on the back of an ever-improving game. Playing both in-circle positions, Burley has continued to build on her defensive abilities through plenty of court time while adding to her credentials. The willowy and athletic defender adds a real dynamic to any defensive end where her quick closing speed, ability to compete strongly in the air and create turnover opportunities are prominent features. A member of the 2022-23 Silver Ferns Development squad, Burley’s hard work has paid off after being elevated to the 2023-24-25 Silver Ferns squad. She was also part of the 2022 FAST5 Ferns bronze medal-winning and 2023 and 2024 silver medal-winning teams at the FAST5 Netball World Series.
