Unassuming but highly effective, Te Huinga Reo Selby-Rickit is able to cover both in-circle defensive positions and will again be a key cog as the conductor at that end of the court for the Steel in 2023. The vastly experienced Selby-Rickit, who has played over 100 games for the Steel, comes armed with a deceptive reach, agile movement and a great ability to read the play. A year after making the NZU21 squad as a 15-year-old in 2004, Selby-Rickit was a member of their victorious World Youth Cup campaign in 2005. An inaugural member of the Southern Steel in the former trans-Tasman league, she moved to Pulse in 2012, before returning to the Steel in 2016 where she has built an impressive reputation. A respected leader in the group, Selby-Rickit is a massive presence in the southern team.
