The recruitment of well-performed Australian defender Jess Milne will add height, variety and versatility to the Steel’s back end of the court in 2026. A key performer for the Gold Coast Titans, Milne will join her sharp-shooting Titans team-mate Josie Bingham at the Steel. Making a strong impression while playing in Queensland’s semi-professional HART Sapphire Series league, the versatile Milne went on to play for the Firebirds Futures team in the Super Netball Reserves competition while the English-born wing defence/goal defence also made her Super Netball debut as a replacement player for the Queensland Firebirds in 2024. With her 1.86m frame, strong one-on-one defensive prowess and ball-hunting abilities, Milne is an exciting addition to the defence end. Jumping at the opportunity to play another style of netball in a different country, Milne is keen to continue developing while pushing her game to new levels.
