Earning her first full contract last season, exciting young midcourter Serina Daunakamakama is back for the Steel in 2026. The talented young playmaker, who predominantly plays wing attack, showed plenty of promise in her first season of elite level netball after moving from her home of Auckland and the Comets NNL team to fill the void at the Steel as an injury replacement in 2024. Having a full season under her belt while also being part of the silver medal-winning NZ U21 team at last year’s World Youth Cup, Daunakamakama’s game is expected to hit new heights on the back of her growing experience. Deft feeding touches combined with speed and a calm demeanour are trademarks of the promising young pivot.
