Familiar with the environment after making her debut as a replacement player last year, exciting young midcourter Ashleigh Poi joins the Steel as a fully contracted member for the 2026 season. She will add some sibling rivalry after joining well-credentialled older sister Kimiora, who signed up with the southerners last season, the pair injecting similar styles and spark to their midcourt abilities. Spending her recent seasons in Canterbury, the vibrant and creative Ashleigh contributed significantly to Mainland’s maiden National Netball League title win last year. Playing the entire 60 minutes of the match at centre, Poi’s work ethic and promising talent left a strong impression, her contribution, which included 40 circle feeds in the final, playing a significant role in Mainland’s win.
