After making a seamless transition from the UK Superleague, England shooter George Fisher has found a ready home in Steel colours and will return for a third season in the deep south in 2023. Having played in the UK Superleague since 2016 before venturing to the Steel in 2021, Fisher made her senior international debut with the England Roses in 2017 as a teenager. A firm favourite with the Steel faithful, the 1.88m 24-year-old had instant success when opting to be part of New Zealand’s top domestic league while thriving in the Steel environment. Fisher’s height, trademark accuracy (top-equal with 93 percent in 2022), movement and ability to forge dynamic attacking combinations are key attributes in the Steel’s front line. Tall and sure under the hoop, the England import adds an impressive dynamic to the Steel shooting end as she looks to further grow her game.
