A seasoned NSW Swifts training partner and former NSW U17 and U19 representative, defender Dakota Thomas, who has strong New Zealand links, will line up in Steel colours in 2025. Thomas has an impressive pedigree and jumped at the opportunity to play her trade on this side of the Tasman. A versatile goal/wing defence with plenty of speed, Thomas has spent the past three years in the Swifts environment and is looking forward to a new environment and showcasing her skillset at the elite level. She is not unfamiliar with New Zealand, having spent many family holidays in the country with the siblings of her Māori father, who was born and raised in Whangarei.
