Returning to where her elite level career started, defender Courtney Elliott will be back in Steel colours for the 2023 season. Elliott was a member of the 2018 ANZ Premiership-winning Steel team and remained in the south in 2019 before joining the Mystics in 2020. She played in the semi-professional Queensland State League in 2021 before joining the Pulse as a replacement call-up for the 2022 season. Elliott was the New Zealand Secondary School Player of the Year in 2016 and was a member of the 2018-19 Silver Ferns Development Squad. Predominantly a goalkeeper in her formative years, the 1.80m Elliott has since started the transition out to goal and wing defence. A strong reader of the game and intelligent player, Elliott returns to the southern ranks as a replacement for Sarahpheinna Woulf
