Accomplished defender Sulu Fitzpatrick continues to be a compelling presence in all facets of the game. A standout from the custodian’s position of goalkeeper in recent seasons, Fitzpatrick was a key influence in the Mystics history-making win in the 2021 Grand Final. Strong in the air and a fine reader of play from the back court, the resurgent Fitzpatrick has revelled in recent years. Her growing maturity warranted an international recall in 2018, seven years after gaining a solitary test cap in 2011. She was selected as a non-travelling reserve for the 2019 Netball World Cup while bouncing back to help the Silver Ferns win bronze at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. A natural leader, Fitzpatrick captained the FAST5 Ferns to the Fast5 World Series title in 2018 while her consistently impressive play saw her crowned the Dame Lois Muir Supreme Award winner in 2021.
