A shift to the Mystics last season paid dividends for talented shooter Monica Falkner following an injury-ravaged couple of years. Missing all of 2020 following a serious knee injury, Falkner’s progress was hindered by further injury problems in 2021. Shifting across town from the Stars, Falkner successfully reignited her career in a young Mystics shooting line-up in 2022. Falkner has long been a player with heaps of quality and promise, making big strides in 2020 after celebrating her Silver Ferns debut before injury thwarted her progress. A sure shot, strong movement, safe hands and rebounding ability are trademark qualities of the athletic shooter. Selected for her first Silver Ferns squad in 2017-18, Falkner was a member of the World Youth Cup winning NZU21 team in 2017 and was part of the FAST5 Ferns triumphant Fast5 Netball World Series-winning team in 2018.
