The pull of home has provided a timely boost and a return to familiar colours for silky-smooth shooter Ameliaranne Ekenasio who will reunite with the Pulse for the 2026 season. After switching her allegiance from Australia to New Zealand in 2014, Ekenasio made Wellington her home while going on to forge a stellar career with the Pulse between 2015 and 2020, across both the former trans-Tasman league and current ANZ Premiership. That included winning the 2019 and 2020 titles with the Pulse before heading in a new direction and spending the last four years with the Magic. Happy to be back on her home patch with a fresh challenge, Ekenasio is a vastly experienced campaigner who adds a dynamic presence at the attack end. With a spectacular high-arching shot, the elegant Ekenasio is a fine mover and ball-handler, sets up play expertly and is a confident long-range shooter. A proven performer, Ekenasio has a strong work ethic which she hopes will rub off and inspire those around her in a new-look Pulse team.
