Having forged her career through the Netball Central pathways, young defender Parris Mason has gone from raw schoolgirl talent to international calibre player and will continue to grow and develop the next stages of her game with the Pulse in 2026. First making the Pulse team straight out of school in 2021, the rangy and athletic defender stamped her mark with a standout 2024 season when she made the goal defence bib her own with a string of potent contributions, culminating in Silver Ferns selection. After several seasons adapting to elite level netball, Mason has come along in leaps and bounds with the promise of more to come. Young in years, Mason is a smart operator whose experience will play a key role in a youthful Pulse defence line in 2026. With all the attributes for a long and successful career, Mason is a naturally talented allrounder, who has excelled in several sports, including netball, basketball and touch. She played for the NZU21 netball team in the 2020 Cadbury Series while in 2022 featured in the first edition of the national women’s basketball league Tauihi Basketball Aotearoa, where she played for inaugural winners, the Tokomanawa Queens, from the Central region.
