After several seasons adapting to elite level netball, talented young in-circle defender Parris Mason has come along in leaps and bounds, making the goal defence bib her own in 2024. Returning to Pulse colours in 2023 after spending a season honing her skills for the title-winning Central Manawa in the NNL, Mason was a standout performer in 2024 with her potent contributions and athletic ability. Her strong performances led to a Silver Ferns trial and subsequent inclusion in the 2024-25 Silver Ferns squad where she went on to make her debut in the international window at the end of the season. A rangy and athletic defender, Mason first made the Pulse team in 2021 in her first year out of Manukura school, and has all the attributes for a long and successful career. Selected in the 2023-24 Silver Ferns Development squad, Mason has excelled in a number of sports, including netball, basketball and touch. She played for the NZU21 netball team in the 2020 Cadbury Series while in 2022 featured in the new national women’s basketball league Tauihi Basketball Aotearoa, where she played an impressive role for inaugural winners, the Tokomanawa Queens, from the Central region.
