Originally hailing from Victoria before moving to Queensland to advance her netball career, young in-circle defender Ashlee Barnett is on the move again after signing with the Tactix for the 2026 season. Barnett gained her first Suncorp Super Netball contract in 2025, with the Queensland Firebirds, after impressing for the Firebirds Futures. The versatile 1.88m defender captained the Firebirds Futures in the inaugural Super Netball Reserves in 2024 while also being named the team's MVP. Melbourne-born, Barnett has represented Queensland as part of the state 19 and Under squad in 2021 and the Firebirds Futures in 2023 and 2024. Showing her leadership qualities in the Futures league, Barnett thrives in the physical contest and is equally-adept at playing both in-circle defensive positions. She has jumped at the opportunity to take stock and add to her netball credentials with a fresh off-shore experience in a new-look Tactix team.
