After making a seamless transition from the UK Superleague, England shooter George Fisher was quick to sign up for a second year with the Steel in 2022. Having played in the UK Superleague since 2016, Fisher made her senior international debut with the England Roses in 2017 as a teenager. Finding a ready home with the Steel, the 1.88m 23-year-old had instant success when opting to be part of New Zealand’s top domestic league while thriving in the Steel environment. Fisher’s height, trademark accuracy (91 percent for 2021), movement and ability to forge dynamic attacking combinations were key to the Steel’s impressive run in 2021. Tall and sure under the hoop, the England import added a new dynamic to the Steel shooting end and is looking to further grow her game.
