Promising young midcourter Ali Wilshier will be back for the Steel in 2022 after making her debut the previous year. A training partner with the Magic in 2020, the 1.69m pocket rocket operates from both wing attack and centre, has speed to burn, the ability to open up the circle with deft feeding touches and is generally a livewire presence on attack and defensively. Wilshier had limited opportunities in her first year but has learnt plenty in the Steel environment as she continues to build on her game. Wilshier spent three years playing for Waikato Bay of Plenty in the National Netball League and was the 2019 NNL Player of the Year. An exciting prospect, the up-and-coming Wilshier joins a youthful Steel roster keen to showcase their credentials.
