Teams dust off the cobwebs with pre-season hit-outs

It was another weekend of pre-season friendlies with the Central Pulse, SKYCITY Mystics, Northern Stars, Mainland Tactix and Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel all in action.

With less than a month to go until Round 1 of the ANZ Premiership and the pre-season tournament in Otaki just days away, coaches have been putting their charges through their paces.

Teams also took the opportunity to spread the ANZ Premiership word en route with appearances, clinics and plenty of photo ops with fans.

Pulse coach Yvette McCausland-Durie said they had two major goals they wanted to achieve in their Taranaki hit-out.

“We had two major goals. One was around having a look at varied combinations and the other was seeing that the players were really clear around what the task at hand was. They stayed committed to that which was pleasing to see,” McCausland-Durie said.

“I thought we were pretty diligent and for some of the time, it was just the execution that wasn’t quite there.”

Fans will have the opportunity to see all six ANZ Premiership teams in action this coming weekend, March 10-12, when they hit the court at Te Wānanga o Raukawa in Otaki. Full-time score updates and a daily wrap will be available on the ANZ Premiership website and social channels. Click here for more information including the draw and ticketing.
