Rore joins NSW Swifts as injury cover
Silver Ferns defender Katrina Rore is set to join the NSW Swifts for the remainder of the 2019 Suncorp Super Netball season as a permanent replacement player.
Due to the New Zealand and Australian leagues being contested at different times this year, Rore has taken up the opportunity with the Swifts to replace defender Kate Eddy who has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
“Katrina is a world-class operator who has been one of the best players in the world for almost a decade now,” Swifts head coach Briony Akle said.
“I would like to thank Netball New Zealand and the Central Pulse for their support in making this happen, and welcome Katrina to our club.”
Rore will be in the Swifts squad to plays Sunshine Coast Lightning in Queensland this Saturday in a top of the table clash.
Fellow Kiwi international Kayla Cullen will also travel with the Swifts this weekend as a temporary replacement player.
Rore will return home to New Zealand following the season and is contracted to Te Wānanga o Raukawa Pulse for the 2020 ANZ Premiership season.
