National Umpire Squad named for 2017
Netball New Zealand is pleased to announce the umpires who will officiate during the 2017 ANZ Premiership and Beko Netball League.
14 umpires have been named in the National Umpire Squad, with a number of fresh faces bringing a renewed sense of enthusiasm to the programme as Netball enters an exciting, new era in New Zealand.
Experienced IUA’s (international umpire award) Kristie Simpson and Angela Armstrong-Lush head up the list, which also includes International Talent Identified (ITID) umpires; Tania Fink, Ann Hay and Gareth Fowler.
Five umpires; Myron Elkington, Jess Lea, Tanya McCarthy, Zak Middleton and Cory Nicholls, have all been selected in the squad for the first time.
The appointment for Jess Lea caps off a successful year, named National Umpire of the Year at last month’s New Zealand Netball Awards.
The National Umpire Squad will service the ANZ Premiership and Beko Netball League in 2017.
