Kopua to captain Magic
Casey Kopua will captain the WBOP Magic in the inaugural season of the ANZ Premiership.
Returning to the court following the birth of her first child Maia last year, Kopua will lead a new-look team which includes rising stars Sam Sinclair, Kelly Jury and Monica Falkner.
Head Coach Margaret Forsyth says Kopua will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team.
“Casey is a great role model both on and off the court and her international experience is second to none,” Forsyth said.
“She is a hardworking and professional player who leads by example and her attitude further enhances the Magic’s strong and successful culture.”
Kopua is one of the League’s most capped players, having taken the court in the 36 NBC matches and 112 former trans-Tasman Netball League games.
