Fowler to miss ANZ Premiership season

Northern Stars player Holly Fowler has been ruled out of the 2017 ANZ Premiership after suffering an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left knee.

The injury occurred during a team practice match and is a blow for the Stars ahead of their ANZ Premiership season opener on March 26.

Northern Stars coach Julie Hoornweg says she is terribly disappointed for Holly.

“This is devastating news for Holly. She has begun the pre-season strongly and was training incredibly hard,” Hoornweg said.

“Holly is a tough and determined player; I know she’ll dedicate herself to her rehabilitation and come back stronger.”

The Northern Stars management and medical team will work with Holly and support her on her road to recovery.

A replacement for Holly will be announced in due course.
