Burley replaces Fowler at Stars

Kate Burley will join the Northern Stars for the 2017 ANZ Premiership, replacing the injured Holly Fowler.

Fowler recently underwent surgery to repair the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left knee and will miss the season.

Northern Stars coach Julie Hoornweg says Kate has a bright future and knows she will thrive in this elite environment.

“It is always tough coming in to replace a teammate but Kate has shown us that she deserves this opportunity and I have every reason to believe she will give us her very best on and the off the court,” Hoornweg said.

The Northern Stars will open their ANZ Premiership campaign against the Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel. The match will be the first game of the inaugural season, and part of a blockbuster Super Sunday featuring all six teams at Claudelands Arena, Hamilton, on March 26 – GET TICKETS.
