2026 ANZ Premiership – Round 10 Previews
The final round of the 2026 ANZ Premiership regular season arrives with plenty still to play for, particularly at the top of the ladder where Grand Final hosting rights remain on the line.
The GoSweetSpot Mystics, Ascot Park Hotel Steel and VIP Frames & Trusses Tactix have all secured their places in the 2026 Finals Series, but final positions are yet to be determined. The Mystics will secure top spot and hosting rights for the Grand Final with a win, while both the Steel and Tactix remain in contention depending on Round 10 results.
While the finals teams are confirmed, there is still plenty at stake across the competition. The Stars, Te Wānanga o Raukawa Pulse and Avis Magic will all be looking to finish their seasons strongly and could yet have a major influence on the final ladder positions and hosting arrangements for the Finals Series.
Stars v Pulse
Saturday 13 June, 4pm at Pulman Arena, Auckland
The regular season begins its final weekend with the Stars hosting the Te Wānanga o Raukawa Pulse in Auckland.
The Pulse have dominated this match-up in recent years, winning 22 of the 29 ANZ Premiership meetings between the sides, although the Stars claimed a 59-55 victory when the teams met earlier this season in Wellington.
While both teams are out of finals contention, there is still plenty to play for as they look to finish their campaigns on a positive note.
Key points:
- The Stars defeated the Pulse earlier this season in Round 3.
- The Stars will finish fourth regardless of the result.
- The Pulse claimed one of the results of the season when they defeated the Tactix in Round 8.
- The Pulse have won two of their past three opening quarters after a challenging mid-season stretch.
- The Stars have won seven opening quarters this season, the most of any team.
Mystics v Magic
Saturday 13 June, 7pm at The Trusts Arena, Auckland
The ladder-leading GoSweetSpot Mystics host the Avis Magic in the final match of the regular season.
The Mystics have won 18 of 26 ANZ Premiership meetings between the teams and claimed a convincing 57-37 victory when they met in Round 2.
For the Mystics, a win guarantees top spot and the right to host the 2026 Grand Final, while the Magic arrive with momentum after back-to-back victories.
Key points:
- The Mystics will secure top spot and Grand Final hosting rights with a win.
- The Mystics are on a six-match winning streak.
- The Magic have won back-to-back matches heading into Round 10.
- A third straight win would equal just the second three-match winning streak in Avis Magic's ANZ Premiership history.
Steel v Tactix
Sunday 14 June, 4pm at ILT Stadium Southland, Invercargill
A potential Finals Series preview takes centre stage in Invercargill as the Ascot Park Hotel Steel host the VIP Frames & Trusses Tactix.
The Tactix have won the past 11 meetings between the teams, including a 55-42 victory in Round 1 this season.
With both teams already qualified for finals, the result could have a major bearing on finishing positions and hosting rights for the Elimination Final.
Key points:
- Both teams have secured places in the 2026 Finals Series
- The Steel scored a season-high 71 goals in Round 9
- The Tactix have won the past 11 meetings between the teams
