2020 ANZ Premiership season launched
With all six team captains and coaches in attendance, the fourth edition of the 2020 ANZ Premiership season has been officially launched in Auckland.
Highlighting the mix of youth and experience, one rising player from each team was also present with Tayla Earle (Northern Mystics), Mila Reuelu-Buchanan (Robinhood Northern Stars), Whitney Souness (Splice Construction Magic), Maddy Gordon (Te Wānanga o Raukawa Pulse), Kimiora Poi (The Good Oil Tactix) and Kate Heffernan (Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel) on hand.
For the first time, an ANZ Premiership match will be played in Blenheim when the Tactix host defending champions, the Pulse in the opening game of the season on March 15.
“We’ve seen from the pre-season that all teams have got certain areas of strength and I think we’re in for a close competition throughout,’’ Pulse coach Yvette McCausland-Durie said.
“I don’t think anything will be set in stone early on in terms of how things are going to pan out and it’s going to be tight all the way which is great.”
