Casey Kopua inspires fellow Netball playing mums
A dream came true for two Morrinsville Netball teams last week when ANZ organised a special delivery with the help of the WBOP Magic captain Casey Kopua.
Founding player for the Dutchies’ Netball Club, Kylie Wells, applied to ANZ’s Dream Delivery programme after the team's own fundraising efforts had come up short for the training gear and professional coach they wanted to achieve their goals for the Netball season.
To support them with their dreams ANZ organized a training session with Casey Kopua before presenting them with new training gear and their very own coach for the season. A banner was also made by the Dutchies’ children for their mums to fly high on game days.
“I can’t describe how exciting it is for the 20 of us to actually meet Casey in the flesh and to get her help and advice on the court. Then to be able to connect on a human level, mum-to-mum was truly inspiring. But what really blew it out of the park for us was being presented with a coach for the whole season. We’ll be unstoppable! Seeing our kids emerge with the banner was the icing on the cake,” says Ms Wells.
