Reinvented midcourter Renee Savai’inaea makes the move south to the Steel in 2021 after three seasons with the Pulse. The athletic and strongly-built Savai’inaea returned to the Pulse fold in 2020 after first coming into the team while still a student at St Mary’s College (Wellington), in 2017. Originally a wing/goal defence, it was identified that to be successful at ANZ level, Savai’inaea needed to develop her game at centre, resulting in the strapping athlete spending the 2019 season honing her skills as a centre/wing defence in the successful Central Manawa Beko team with impressive results. A multi-talented sportswoman, Savai’inaea is a NZU21 squad member and former New Zealand Secondary School representative.
