Whether as an impact player off the bench, or as a starter – she has the ability to change the game.
Match winner: Kadeen Corbin
A newcomer to the ANZ Premiership, England international Kadeen Corbin is one to look out for in 2017. Her confidence to go to the post and crafty court play add an extra dimension to an attack line that is sure to keep many teams on their toes.
Player to watch: Erikana Pedersen
Expect big things from Erikana Pedersen in 2017. With a strong pre-season under her belt, Pedersen will be the Tactix’ go-to in the midcourt. The zippy attacker will be looking to use her creativity and flair to help drive the team forward in 2017.
What the coach says:
“We’ve got speed, we’ve got agility and we’re looking for that ‘wow’ factor and accuracy with our ball movement,” Tactix coach Sue Hawkins said.
“It’s a different attack end to last year, so we need to capitalise on our creativity and speed up front.
“We’ve focussed a lot of attention on our defence this year – we need to make sure that we’re scoring off any turnovers and making the most of our opportunities.”
The Mainland Tactix will open their ANZ Premiership campaign against the WBOP Magic as part of a blockbuster Super Sunday featuring all six teams at Claudelands Arena, Hamilton, on March 26 – GET TICKETS.
